01

Confirm coverage

Verify that all required systems, databases and business files are included in the expected jobs.

02

Review recency and retention

Check the last successful backup, retention policy and whether protected copies exist outside the primary failure domain.

03

Perform restore tests

Regularly restore representative files, application data or virtual machines into a safe test location.

04

Document recovery expectations

Record ownership, RPO, RTO, recovery dependencies and escalation contacts.

Use this as a practical starting point. Follow your organization's policies, licensing requirements and vendor documentation for production changes.
