Project overview

An internally managed communications model across local and offshore operations

Grandstream UCM6308A, Wave and RemoteConnect provide a shared voice and call-center foundation for Jeddah, Mahayel and the Cairo offshore team under internal IT administration.

Context & challenge

The operating need

The organization needed more consistent voice quality, routing control and operational ownership across local and offshore call-center activity.

Role & responsibility

Ahmed's contribution

Ahmed designed and configured the replacement architecture, coordinated rollout and training, and continues to improve routing, supervision and reporting capabilities.

Solution

How the work was approached

Environment: Jeddah and Mahayel healthcare operations plus the Cairo offshore call-center team using Grandstream UCM6308A and Wave.

An internally managed UCM and Wave architecture centralizes IVR, queues, extensions, recording and remote-agent access while keeping later analytics and supervision improvements staged.

Execution highlights

  • Established shared IVR, queue and routing behavior under internal IT control.
  • Extended Wave and RemoteConnect access to distributed and offshore users.
  • Kept recording, reporting and supervisor capabilities as explicit operating workstreams rather than assuming feature parity from day one.
Security & operational controls

Designed for responsible operation

  • Public material excludes phone numbers, extensions, recordings, SIP credentials and live routing detail.
  • Administrative access and recording access are treated as controlled operational privileges.
  • Analytics integration with Connect remains a staged capability rather than a completed blanket claim.
Key decisions

Choices that supported the outcome

  • Prefer an internally managed platform where routing and user operations can be controlled directly.
  • Use the same communications foundation across locations while preserving local operational needs.
  • Separate voice-service stability from later reporting and supervisor-feature maturity.
Lessons

What the work reinforced

  • Operational ownership can matter as much as feature count in communications platforms.
  • Remote-agent experience depends on both PBX design and endpoint and network conditions.
  • Call-center migration should be validated with real operating feedback before broader feature expansion.

Solution architecture

How the solution is structured.

The major functional layers and how they work together.

01

Inbound telecom

Business calling reaches the internally managed communications environment through configured trunks and routing.

02

Grandstream UCM6308A

The PBX controls IVR, queues, extensions, routing and recording for the supported operating model.

03

Wave / RemoteConnect

Desktop and remote-agent access extends the same calling model to distributed users and the offshore team.

04

Operational locations

Jeddah, Mahayel and Cairo use the shared communications design under internal IT administration.

Operational footprint

Scale and operating impact.

Core capabilities

What the solution enables.

The capabilities that make the project useful in day-to-day operations.

Central call routing

IVR, queues and extension routing provide one internally managed call-handling model.

Remote-agent operation

Wave and RemoteConnect support agents outside the primary site without relying on a separate hosted call-center stack.

Recording & supervision foundation

Call recording and queue capabilities support operational review, with advanced supervision/reporting developed in stages.

Cross-location continuity

The design connects Jeddah, Mahayel and Cairo operations while keeping platform ownership with internal IT.
